24th MAU Intranet

Background and Purpose
This effort is run by Anthony Ciliberto, a Beirut USMC veteran. This is an intranet website, as opposed to internet website. Membership is for anyone who served as a Navy or Marine personnel for 32nd, 22nd and 24th Mau's and family members of those who served (and of course, anyone who is contributing or did contribute to any Mau cause). Membership may be expanded in the future. Suggestions welcome. Members use the site to share files, pictures, and links, coordinate group events, and keep everyone up-to-date on important announcements. You don't need anything special to connect to the site; just a web browser and an Internet connection. But you do need to sign up to become a member. This a collaborative group project, meaning members can talk and exchange ideas with anyone within the intranet.

Root Scoop 2K

Background and Purpose
Robert Galt, a Beirut USMC veteran, is getting many people and families connected through an e-mail list mailing, termed "ROOT SCOOP 2K". These are collaborative group mailings, meaning, members can talk and exchange ideas with anyone on the mailing list.

Robert was an 0311 Sgt with Alpha Co, BLT 1/8 - 24th MAU. His list is primarily for BLT 1/8 - 24th MAU Marines, Corpsmen and Surviving Family Members. Robert would be happy to help members of the other MAU's who are interested in starting similar lists; as well as serve as a point of contact between similar lists. He has heard from BLT 2/8 and BLT 2/6 members who have shown an interest.

Frequency of Mailings
There is no set number of regular mailings, but rather, based on when there is enough information or news to put out. In the past, they have been on average, weekly to once every two or three weeks. For more info on participating, send an e-mail to:

(NOTE: Please include rank, full name & full assigned
unit / position during your time in Beirut.)
