Events on Fri 23rd, Oct, 1998 6:00am Candlelight service until 6:23 (Chaplain Wheeler & Chaplain Pucciarelli officiating - both were in Beirut in Oct 1983) 6:30am 8th Marines giving contential breakfast on the base. 9:00am Memorial Ceremony (08:30am to get a seat). then... 11:00am Lunch with 8th Marines and base tour. 12 Noon Camp Geiger always have a short ceremony around noon. Put on by the devil dogs (older retired Marines) ------- From Maj Bob Jordan: 3:00pm "We're also launching the Peacekeepers stamp by the government of Grenada at 3PM at the Quality inn. The Grenanian ambassador, the Honorable Denis Antoinne, will be present for the ceremony honor- ing the Peacekeepers for their heroic and unselfish sacrifice demonstrated in Grenanda in 1983." ------- From Judy Young: 4:00pm Private Recon ceremony at 4:00 and reception afterwards but not anything has been confirmed yet. (told they are out on deployment at the present time) 6:00pm A reception will be held at the hotel (Quality Inn), followed by a standup buffet. The registration fee of $l5.00 helps pay for this buffet. Hope everyone sent their fee in and not waits until the last minute because the food, drinks, have to be arranged for and its not something that can be done at the last minute.
