Writes Gregg
Smith, on Fri 21 Sept 2001 about John Chipura:

Maybe I ran by John last Tuesday as I was running out, and he was running IN, God Bless him. I was standing 700 feet from the south tower when it collapsed. I ran for my life with 2 firemen and a policeman. When the dust settled enough for us to realize we were alive. The policeman and I headed for the river, the fireman headed back into the rubble and burning north tower. Truly bravery and faithfullness that should be the heart of the Corps was displayed by these men.

I served with 2/6 in Beirut twice in 1983, the second time as the reaction force when they slaughtered our brothers. As I have not forgotten them, I will not forget the innocent and the brave from NYC on 9/11.

I am a business man with an international professional services firm and my job is to help keep the economy strong as we fight this coming battle. God Speed to those who will now willingly go into harms way to protect our Nation.
